According to KGET TV 17:

Hilary Duff made an appearance in New Orleans, Louisiana on Tuesday to mark the one-year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.

Duff has donated 2.5 million meals for Katrina relief through nonprofit organization USA Harvest and will deliver food, backpacks and miscellaneous items throughout the day.

The singer/actress visited schools, a disaster-recovery center and other locations with charity founder Stan Curtis.

The actress/singer made the morning announcements and met with fans at Nelson Charter School, served lunch at Alice M. Harte Elementary School, spoke at Edna Karr High School and handed out dinner at Camp Hope in St. Bernard Parish.

    she might not be rocking the jeans, but it is good to know that she is doing something nice in the name of charity.
