Shocker! Britney Spears did her own make-up for Dateline interview!

The NY Post reports:
BRITNEY Spears needs guidance. “Dateline” staffers were shocked when they showed up with Matt Lauer to interview Spears last week and found the pop star alone in her Malibu manse. “Neither of her publicists, Leslie Sloane Zelnick or Nanci Ryder, showed up,” said our source. Spears insisted on doing her own hair and makeup - a regrettable decision. Web sites derided her hair as a “rat’s nest” and, when she started crying during the interview, one of her fake eyelashes fell off. “When [the NBC crew] got there, they thought they had the wrong day . . . During the interview, no one was there to rein things in,” we’re told. Spears, when asked about Kevin Federline being with a pregnant Shar Jackson when they first met, shot back, “Julia Roberts’ husband had a pregnant wife when he hooked up with Julia, but no one ever talked about that!” Spears wore flip-flops, a see-through tank and micro-mini jeans. Reps tried to control the damage on Friday. “They asked NBC not to release footage to places like E!,” said a source. Asked why Spears was on her own for the interview, Sloane Zelnick said, “Britney is a grown-up and makes her own decisions.”

i think this is just her way of rebelling. when she was a teenager she had a career, she didn’t get to rebel a little like the rest. i think now she’s trying to prove that she doesn’t need all these people, she can do it on her own. she’ll grow out of it eventually!
I think it’s fine that she wanted to do it on her own, but if she was going to go through all the trouble to try and salvage her reputation, she could have at least TRIED to look like a responsible adult!! Put on some clothes that don’t cause your boobs to fall out all over the place, comb your hair, spit out the gum…come on, it’s not that hard! At least PRETEND you’re a responsible adult for one hour of your life! I was REALLY trying hard to muster up some sympathy for her, but she makes it really hard.
All she had to do was go to the local MAC, get a make-up lesson (minimum $45 purchase), spend a good $350 and she would have looked fabulous!!!!!
I actually thought despite the bad make up and horrible outfit she still looks quite pretty.
Wouldn’t be hard for her to become “Hot” again.
Good on her for choosing to spend time with her son rather than hours infront of a mirror trying to look glam every time she leaves the house like Gwen Stefani.
So what shes put on weight, most real woman do when the have babies. There is no way that girl is fat. If I had looked that good in a bikini 6 months pregnant I would have been a very happy lady!
I agree…I agree…if she had someone do her makeup she would be ridiculed just like she was over her special orders for her birth. She can’t win! I do like the comparison video going around though - her talking without her accent for all those years and now it’s stronger than ever.
I think everyone should just back off. If she doesn’t want to be in the lime light then let her be…but I hope she doesn’t try to make a comeback after shooing everyone away.
What I like is that for the first time Britney Spears is real! Her body is real..not like other celebrities who are paper thin with a balloon in the front of them. The only thing I would criticize are her boobs hanging out all over the place. Poor Matt Lauer (”Should I look…no she’s a Momma..but her boobs..but she’s a Mom..but she’s Britney..but she’s a mom”…what an internal debate he had going on I bet!)
i dont think shes shooing everyone away like everyone is trying to say. i think shes simply saying back off a little. the extremes the paparazzi go to with her are dangerous. she never once said she didnt want ANY photyos taken.
she didnt care years ago because she didnt have a child. she has every right to say “ok now i have a baby, the intensity of the stalking has got to be lessened, particularly for his safety.”
this may be a little off topic. but couldnt someone (perhaps brit herself) say what kind of mother sits around on the internet commenting on her parenting skills? where are your kids? doesnt feel so good does it?
and before you say “im only on here for a couple minutes a day checking out the latest gossip” we all take a few pictures and interviews out of her life and think we know her story and are in a position to judge.
if you are a mother you cant really judge her parenting skills and the degree of time she spends with her kids while trolling around the internet insulting a 24 year old girl and her 9 months old baby.
p.s. this doesnt apply for hotmomma- this site is a form of income for her and not just a silly habit.
If you ask me Kevin has really brought out the “trailer park” in Britney. It’s ashamed to see such a beautiful and talented girl go down the tubes like this.
poor britney..i feel so bad for her… if only she can just stop acting hysterical and start having some sense. but then again under all that public scrutiny this seems almost impossible
Ok…all moms make mistakes can’t fault her for the parenting snafu’s, but for crying out loud your not 12, SPIT OUT THE GUM!!!! She looked like a cow chewing her cud!
My sister and i were both disgusted by the way Britney was dressed and her behavior. Spit the gum out, sit up straight and please please dress like an adult. If you want people to take you seriously than try to dress a little more appropriate. This was her chance to show the world that she is a good mother….fine, you are a good mother but now people are talking about how immature you dress and act! I don’t think she is a bad mother, everyone has had there OOPS with there own children. But she needs to look a little more her age.
