She’s Gone….

Posted on May 18th, 2006 by Hot Momma

Shes Gone....

As numerous gossip blogs predicted, Mischa Barton’s O.C. character, Marissa, will NOT be returning next season. In the season finale Barton’s character was killed in a car accident. Here’s how it went down according to E! News,

Sometimes-boyfriend Ryan (Benjamin McKenzie) was driving her in his new Land Cruiser to the airport so she could meet her dad in Greece, where they would do some big-time bonding working on a yacht together all summer. Kevin Volchok (Cam Gigandet), drunk and ticked off that Marissa broke up with him, pursues them in his car, swerving all the way.

Sadly, Ryan loses control of the SUV and crashes. He is able to get Marissa out of the flipped-over vehicle before it catches fire, but she dies in his arms along the side of the road.

Will the OC ever be the same? One of the major plots of the show was Marissa and Ryan’s unrequited love…Bummer to the Max!

well its not like the girl can actually act. it will probably be better for the show, she is quite possibly the worst actress ever.

I have to agree with anon 2:46…her acting skills suck but, she is a very cute girl and Im sure she can do like tooth paste commercials or something. LOL

It was so obvious that she was the one to go, she was tying up all her loose ends. She hasn’t had much of a role lately anyway, just being drunk and rebelious, she was just a waste of space causing drama. Now that Caitlyn is back there is another Cooper to cause the drama and frankly she is much better at it.

I didn’t think the ending was very good. Why didn’t she tell Ryan she loved him..or say something at least. Blah!

The only bad thing about her being gone is that she was the only one on the show who actually was close to the age of the girl she was playing. Also too bad Ryan couldn’t go too. The show would be a lot better with just Summer, Seth and the Cohens.

Anon 6:15…I agree that the show would be great with just Summer, Seth and the Cohen’s also but who would rescue them when they got into trouble or beat someone up for their honor? They need Ryan around to be the chivalrous(sp) hero!! :)

It was sad to see the whole car accident. You could totally tell it was going to be her from the beginning of the episode but I’m stoke Mini Cooper is back in town and there for the long haul. She’s a fiesty lil fire ball and she is definetely better at it then Mischa Barton was. Before Marissa took her last gasping breath I was expecting to hear an “I love you” from either her or Ryan.. I know he was thinking it.. Too bad they didn’t write it in the script.

It does suck that she’s gone but lately her character is dull & whiny. I’m a little nervous to see where the show goes though. I’m a die hard fan of The OC & watched from the beginning. Hopefully Kaitlin will keep ratings up.
