The Oscar-winning actress was visibly annoyed at the stares and pointing when she had dinner with hubby Chris Martin on Tuesday at hip lower East Side sushi bar Cube 63.But the stares turned to gapes when the pregnant actress downed a beer.
“People were looking and waving, and she just tried to melt further into the corner,” according to one witness, who said she ordered salad and what appeared to be sushi.
Diners in the 30-seat restaurant observed Martin exit the BYOB joint to pick up several bottles of the Irish stout Guinness at a nearby deli. And they were surprised when Paltrow, who is five months pregnant with the couple’s second child, drank one herself.
Paltrow is famous for her rigorous macrobiotic diet, although she altered it the last time she was pregnant, with her daughter, Apple. Some experts recommend a little Guinness for expecting mothers, because of the brew’s high iron content.
Her rep confirmed she drank the alcoholic beverage, but said she ate only cooked food, not sushi.

Naomi Campbell has been arrested for allegedly assaulting her assistant.
NYPD sources tell TMZ.com that the model was arrested at her home and taken to the Midtown North Precinct — As of 12:20 PM EST, Thursday, Campbell was still there. The incident occurred at 8:00 AM EST. The alleged victim, a 41-year-old woman, was struck in the head with an object, allegedly thrown by Campbell. The woman had a laceration on the back of her head. She went to Lenox Hill Hospital for stitches. |

The pop star has been talking about her adoption hopes for months, revealing she almost took home a little boy when she visited the Casa Hogar Elim orphanage in Mexico City when she was a teenager in 1999.And now her dreams are taking shape - her publicist ROB SHUTER confirms the singer and her family are looking to take over an orphanage.
He says, “Jessica and her family have anonymously contributed money to orphanages for several years. It is true that Jessica is exploring options to further help these children in need.”

Julia Roberts enjoyed a successful Broadway debut Tuesday night with the first preview of Three Days Of Rain, although she burst out laughing when a plastic tomato prop bounced all over the stage. The plastic veggie landed on the floor, bounced and echoed like a table tennis ball - a blooper that left Roberts briefly in stitches. She broke character and couldn’t help flashing her trademark toothy grin. That smile was in evidence at the curtain call, which showed that Roberts had checked her superstar status at the stage door.
