American Idol: What happens after Idol?

America…here is your top 9!
Earlier this week, 16 year old Lisa Tucker was eliminated from the competition. Ever wonder what happens to the booted idol immediatley following the announcement? Me too…luckily TMZ.com found out the dirt in “Saying Goodbye the AI Way”. First, the dejected idol is taken into a private room and interviewed by staff psychologists and idol management. While in the secluded room they discuss the idol’s feelings, what they are allowed to say and what not to say, and what responsibilities they have now that they are off the show. From there, the slightly traumatized and overwhelmed idol is whisked off to a “last supper” of sorts with the remaining Idol contestants. The booted contestant must then stay in the idol house for one more week to do interviews and press. After that he/she is free to go.

Pretty interesting…huh? I always wondered why the booted contestants don’t have a melt down…

P.S. Anyone else miss Ryan’s catch phrase, “Seacrest Out!”?

That’s cool. At least they get to spend some more time with the others before going home…I think it’s sad, cuz the smaller the group gets the closer they become and the harder is must be.

I was thinking about that the other day. What ever happened to “Seacrest out”?
